According to open sources the total value of Ukraine’s mineral resources is $14.8 Trillion. Of this $7.3 Trillion lies in the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. This is why Kyiv never, never intended to comply with the Minsk agreement and why Germany and France were never honest brokers. The resources of Crimea, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, which are now Russian are estimated as $821 Billion. All of this makes up nearly 63% of the former Ukraine’s coal reserves, 42% of its metal deposits and 33% of its rare earth and other important minerals, including lithium. Western Ukraine only holds $723 Billion, which do not exceed 5% of all reserves.
